ALAN CHARLTON
NOIRE CHAPEL
Light and Dark (2017) displayed at the Noire Chapel to celebrate the launch of the Artist book:
From a square to a triangle by Alan Charlton.
The British artist Alan Charlton, known above all for his minimalist paintings and installations, paints exclusively in gray, declining the color beyond all potential. His conceptual works are often composed of simple geometric shapes and the use of gray leads him to a challenge against any constraint towards the search for a direct, simple and pure language. The elegance of gray marks new spaces in search of the material, or of a trace of a memory in which everything resets, giving space to monochromatic.
